Matilda Barseghian
Matilda Barseghian focuses her practice on transactional matters, with an emphasis on franchise law and business acquisitions.
Matilda represents franchisors and franchisees in structuring, drafting, and negotiating franchise and development agreements. Her experience includes preparing and revising franchise disclosure documents (FDDs), franchise agreements, and multi-unit development agreements, as well as advising clients on system standards, compliance considerations, and growth strategies. She works closely with emerging brands and multi-unit operators, providing practical, business-oriented guidance tailored to each client’s objectives.
In addition to her franchise practice, Matilda advises clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions. She represents buyers and sellers in both asset and equity purchase transactions and regularly prepares and negotiates key transaction documents. She is actively involved in all phases of the deal process and works closely with clients and counterparties throughout negotiations and closing.
She earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School, where she was a member of the Southwestern Law Review and Moot Court and served on the Southwestern Law Review Editorial Board.
Matilda is admitted to practice in California and is based in Los Angeles.
